Director Jakob Lass tells his story in rapidly changing images that drag the viewer in the characters’ life in an almost hallucinatory way, and he doesn’t shy away from humor, too. „Love Steaks“ is a nice example for the fact that many movies are created at the editing suite, as the editing work is the most inspiring time for many directors. Founded by the DJ and producer Muck, saint-vitus-records is a label of electronic music established since 2010 in Geneva (Switzerland). The universe of the label is a rich combination of drawings and musical productions. Each release weaves a link throughout the ages and reminds that trance and dancing – in the middle of the techno phenomenon for the past 30 years – have always existed, and that the search for exteriorisation through dancing, the body pleasure in the music, and the access to the extraordinary conscience, has no time. Unlike many labels of which illustration founds an almost decorative function, the drawings are constructed in black and white with simple power relationships like symbols, figures and myths, just like a kind of popular imagery. In fact, Saint Vitus is a historical figure that has actually in the middle Ages. We can find historical traces referring to meetings or groups of people that used to give themselves to dances free of any social convention, in the limits of the shamanistic trance. Terrified by those dancers, the religious invoked Saint Guy (Saint Vitus in Latin) to protect the dancers. With no doubt, these dancers with uncontrollable movements involuntarily absorbed some ergot, which is a mushroom naturally developed within cereals.
